This was definitely too good to be true. I kinda had my hopes up. Hopefully they'll release a free version soon (which is kinda the reason why we downloaded it in the first place).
Does anyone else agree with me and sick and tired of false advertisment? They say oh let me scan and fix your pc for free, free my butt, then they find 250 errors and only want to fix 15 of them!just because you have a pc and internet doesnt rich and have a debit card! Some people are poor! I am just sick of lies, i should know there is nothing free in this world but freedom of speech, thank god for that>
I've been using GIMP professionally for years and the only problem I have with it is that it doesn't offer CMYK for print work and none of the CMYK plug ins I've found have worked. I trained on Photoshop originally and I find that GIMP is very similar, it was very easy for me to start using it as it's pretty much the same - one difference is masking - I find it easier to just outline what I want with the pen tool and copy that to a layer above. It IS different than Photoshop, there are things Photoshop can do and GIMP can't and vice versa and I think it's good to have and be versatile in both and as many other graphics programs as you can. I haven't ever had GIMP "crash" or take a long time to "render previews" and there are hundreds of tutorials on GIMP all over the internet. Photoshop's greatest advantage to me is CMYK, particularly for photographs, GIMP just can't really do photographs for anything but web. GIMP's advantage is the color tools for RGB and some of the GIMP filters are big fun and of course - it's all free, including boat loads of plug ins,
use ms virtual pc version 6.0.192 or higher in case you want to install Windows 7 beta.
if you use an older build you'll get a BSOD after installing vmadditions !!
(at least that BSOD shows how the recovery function works in Windows 7)
